Airborne Precautions

  • Assess all patients for signs and symptoms of TB
  • Place patients requiring Airborne Precautions [List of Negative Pressure Rooms]
  • To discontinue isolation, patients must have negative AFB smears on three expectorated sputum specimens, or one induced sputum specimen, one bronchoscopy specimen or one endotracheal specimen or three gastric aspirates
